Plan to major in Computer Software Engineering.

Hate saying this but..

SAT(first time): 1450 (560 CR, 450 Math, 440 Writing)

Plan to try the ACT on June 14th. Hoping to do well because I feel quite worried/stressed that I am not doing enough/am strong enough of a candidate to be accepted into UGA.

Your SAT is what is really hindering your acceptance IMO. 1450 is really low. I got in with 1910 combined (680 math, 670 CR, and 560 Writing). Try to get your CR+Math score to be at least 1300. My weighted gpa was 4.2 and my unweighted was ~3.7 but I know people with lower GPA’s who got in. (I’m from India)

Really work on your SAT/ACT score. My friend didn’t get in to UGA and he had ~1900 on his SAT and a ~3.6 unweighted gpa. (white male)

Another friend didn’t get in and he made 1930 on his SAT but his gpa was kinda low. It was around 3.4 unweighted. (korean-american male).

Another friend didn’t get in and she made 1950 on SAT but made a 1/2 C’s and that ruined her GPA.

TBH, UGA is now considered a public ivy and it’s getting harder and harder to get in. You really need to get your SAT/ACT up and work on getting all A’s during first semester of senior year. I think if you can increase your numbers enough, you have a fair chance but remember that transferring is always an option!

It really isn’t considered a public ivy though @AbuDhabi123‌
Those spots are reserved for schools like UNC, UCB, UCLA, Virginia, Michigan, UIUC, etc
