Should I do early decision to Cornell?

Hey everyone!

I want to apply ED to Cornell’s School of Hotel Administration but I am worried that if I get accepted, I might end up paying the full tuition. My family makes under $60,000 a year, so I don’t know how much money I can get from Cornell if I do ED. Would ED affect my chance of getting financial aid at all?

If you have ever been in a similar situation, it will be greatly appreciated if you can share your experience with me!

Thanks for your help in advance and good luck with all your college apps this year:)

The financial aid situation is similar for all Ivy Leagues. Here is Cornell’s policy:

If your family makes <$60,000/yr and has <$100,000 in assets, you will get a full ride to Cornell.

And no, ED does not affect your financial aid. All aid for the Ivy League colleges are need-based.

+1 to the above in concept. IDK about the specific numbers, but there are ranges like that.

Also, there is a net price calculator on the Cornell website. Recommend you go through that and discuss the results w your parents. It will give you a pretty realistic picture of what the school would expect your family to pay, if anything.
