Should I do Early Decision to Cornell?

Hi
I am narrowing down my list of colleges i want to apply to. My high school stats are not impressive for ivy leagues, but I really want to go to Cornell. My question is, should I apply to Cornell ED? I heard that last year their acceptance rate was close to 40% for ED.
I will be applying for financial aid. Please tell me all the advantages and disadvantages of doing ED. Also, will I be able to send in my November SAT II scores?

Here are my stats:
GPA: 3.5
Rank 44/282
SAT: 1820 (M:690 W:600 R: 530) (Will take them again in October. Hoping for a huge improvement)
SAT II: Math I: 750. Will take Math II and Physics in November
Statistics AP: 3 US AP:2 (I know it sucks)
APs taken this year:
Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Macroeconomics AP, Computer Science AP and Physics AP
Very competitive school. Sent several students to ivies last year ( 1 to Harvard).

Varsity Tennis Team Member (Got Varsity Letter)
Most Improved Tennis Player for 2008.
Athlete of the Month.
Member for various school clubs.

About 30 hours of community service.

My Major will be Engineering

I have great recommendation letters and will have an excellent essay.

Also, please chance me on these schools:
Cornell ED
University of Chicago
UPenn
NYU
Boston University
Rutgers University

Please let me know if I missed anything.
Thanks

What is your ethnicity? Sorry to say, but despite the very high acceptance rate, you do not seem to have that good of chances. You seem to be aiming very high, with your only matches being BU and Rutgers. Hope you have a couple safeties. Good luck.

No, unfortunately your stats, across the board, would give you no chance. I would say the same for Chicago and Penn, even with higher scores. With a 2100 NYU looks possible, 2000 for BU.

Unfortunately, the stats are going to hurt a lot. It will be a pretty high reach even with ED.

“Unfortunately, the stats are going to hurt a lot. It will be a pretty high reach even with ED”.

Ed cornell is easier than RD, really?

Well, there’s a higher acceptance rate for ED so people assume that it’s “easier.”
You never know though; the applicants for ED might have outstanding stats than the people who apply for RD, thus resulting in the higher acceptance rate for ED.

Im sorry to say, but ED Cornell is a high reach with those stats. Decent GPA, below average class rank, and not so good SAT scores, Cornell might have a high acceptance rate, but not that high lol. Sorry mate :/
