Should I do Internship that does not have much to do with my major?

I am planning on majorin ing CSC or CSE in college, but there isn’t much internship or volunteering opportunities in my area. There is a huge environmental science internship though that is combined with a leadership program. Should I do the internship or save the time for something else?

**The only extra curricular I have right now related to engineering is computer science team at school.

Go for it. It will help you diversify your interests and may even give you new insights of things you want to do. It sounds like a great opportunity! Colleges like to see people with multiple interests anyway, so not everything has to be related. Especially if it is during your high school years, it is a great time to explore, something you may not get to do too much of if you decide it is your set pathway. I say go for it!

I would say go for it unless you 1) are not interested 2) Have another activity you prefer.

You will learn leadership and general “how to work in the business world” skills
