Should I do pratice LSAT books before I take LSAT course?

I just started working on two books, Logical reasoning bible and logical games bible, I had purchased these books with the intention of not taking a course, but considering the sheer magnitude of the LSAT I figured it would be best just to take a class since I learn better in an organized enviroment. I do know what course I am going to take. I hard testmasters was one of the best. I also recieve a 15% discount from kaplan since I'm in a business honor society.... But anyway I'm just wondering if i should still work these books with me taking the class? Will I get conflicting point of views and methods that will only hinder my performance??
Thanks,
Doug

The Powerscore bibles that you mentioned are a great resource.

I advise self-study over prep courses. Courses are best for people who lack the motivation to self-study and need a set schedule every week. You may be better off forming a study group in your neighborhood (Craigslist might help here) or going with a private tutor - much better use of the $1200+ you'd spend on a course, in my opinion.

and, yes...test prep companies' methods differ from one another. the bibles will teach you one (better, in my opinion) method than will the kaplan/testmasters courses.
