Should I do pre-calc prep?

Hello,

I will be a junior this upcoming school year and I was wondering if I should do pre-calculus prep this summer to better prepare myself for the honors class I will take? I took Integrated Math 3 Honors this past year and I got an A. I have also been doing some SAT prep, but I haven’t really taken it seriously until this past week. If you do suggest I do prep, should I use Khan Academy? Or should I use any other service?

Thank you in advance!

If precalculus honors is the usual following course after IM3 honors that you earned an A in, why would you think that you need to do additional preparation before taking precalculus honors?

I hated integrated math, but it does prepare you well. I don’t know how your school works, but at mine, Precalc is not an integrated math. For me, that made the class much easier (I also took it over the summer, though). Prep class is always good, but if you feel like you are good at math, then it is not needed. Precalc is simple algebraic manipulation, and it proves easy to some, especially if they are more of an algebra/graphs person over a geometry person. I think Khan Academy is a great resource for math, but don’t stress this upcoming year. If you got an A in IM3, then I’m sure you’ll be fine. I found IM2 and IM3 harder than precelc and AP Calc, but then again, I really don’t like geometry or the integrated math system. Good luck!

I should’ve rephrased, my bad. I got a B first semester and an A second semester. Even before quarantine, I was on track to get an A. But thank you for your feedback!
I really appreciate it!

An A or B in the appropriate prerequisite course means you should be well-prepared for the class.
