Should I do ROTC?

I am confused by your post. It sounds like you have completed a year of college courses with a 2.5 GPA, but do not have an ROTC scholarship at this time? Are you still taking classes at the same college? Are you living at home, or on campus? How did you pay for the first year?

Have your parents said why they are concerned? I must say, I would personally have some concern about my kids for Army or Marine ROTC, as those branches of the military are pretty much the infantry and first to get shot at in a time of war. If my kid was ROTC, I would prefer that they be Air Force as well (if possible, and I see you have constraints there). I understand that others out here may not feel the same, just saying that might be your parents’ concern. Of course, it could be something totally different.

Sounds like you need to try to get a part time or summer job using your computer science skills… even if you are just hooking up network stuff or imaging desktops or something, any job in the field would give you a foot in the door and something on your resume. Or one kid in my daughter’s class started a web design company, doing web design and maintenance for a few local businesses. They didn’t want to pay much, and he was cheap because he was inexperienced. Doing that would help you move forward and maybe earn some money for college if you don’t do ROTC.

Hey… did you delete your post? :(
