Should I do the SAT or SAT 2 first?

Hi all.

So next year after I complete my finals, I intend to do the SAT subject tests and SAT I in October and November.

I am currently a senior in my last year of school, I intend to do the tests in Math 2,Chemistry and Physics.

I am an international applicant for reference.

Due to timing and location I consider that I have to do the 3 subject tests on the same day.

I finish my finals exams at the end of June, leaving ample time imo to prepare for the sat and sat II etc.

So for general advice, can anyone advise me on what they would do in my situation and what the best approach would be.

Thank you

Kind Regards

Nate.

bump

Sat first of course. No doubt

If you’re diligent about your studying, you’ll probably only need 5-7 days max for each subject test (that is, if you already know most of the material). That way you can focus more on the SAT and potentially prepare months in advance.

Hmm I would say do the subject tests first and do it right after your finals to ensure you don’t forget all the relevant material

I took one SAT II, got a feel for it, then took the SAT. The subject tests are not overwhelmingly difficult, especially compared to AP exams

Oh right, thanks all :)

You should take most subject tests shortly after you have completed that subject in school. The exception is math. Since all the strategies you learn while preparing for the SAT can be used on the math subject tests, you should take these right after you have taken your SAT - about 1 month of preparation after having already prepared for the SAT is usually more than enough.
