Should I do this and spend a year at Community College?

I live in NYC. I went to Pace University for a year and absolutely hated it. I was so unmotivated that I ****ed up my GPA and ended up with a cumulative GPA of 2.45. I haven't been in school for close to a year and I'm getting desperate and lonely.

I applied to Rutgers and unfortunately I did not get accepted due to my low GPA. Anyway, one option they told me was to attend Middlesex County College for a year and then transfer directly to Rutgers but I'm not sure if I want to do that.

Part of the reason I wanted to go to Rutgers was the social/college life and campus. I've been extremely lonely this past year and was really hoping to dorm and socialize in a large school.

I'm also applying to:
SUNY Purchase
CUNY Hunter
CUNY Brooklyn
CUNY City College

My major would be Psychology, but to be honest, I'd rather go to a school with a social and active environment than to go to a school with a great program and be miserable.

What do you suggest guys? Should I go to Middlesex for a year and then transfer? Or will community college be as miserable?

Probably should do your time at community college and transfer.

Be forewarned though, community college sucks. I’m back at CC after a year at an out of state university that I thought was costing me too much $$. Needless to say, it sucks. I’ll be glad to get out of here after this year, but I also stress daily about getting accepted to the school I need to go to.
