Should I do this??? (my Telebears is tomorrow!!!)

Phase I:
Chem 3AL (2)
Chinese 10Y (5)
Math 16B (3)

Phase II:
Chem 3A (3)
Public Policy C103 (4)
MCB 90E (1) - seminar

Public Policy C103 (the class with Robert Reich) is already about halfway full, I was thinking of switching that with Chinese 10Y, but that only has 18 spots. Any suggestions to what I should do?

Just in case you missed this, but the enrollment in C103 went from 345 to 413/650 since this morning. I didn’t check the cross-listed L&S class. Make sure you view the current enrollment info and not just look at the search result listing.

There are THREE lectures for Chinese 10Y and only 2 people have enrolled total in all of Phase I so far.

Use your brain and think of which one seems more reasonable to Phase I :)

You shouldn’t need to Phase 1 Math 16B I think. Chem 3A is far more important than math or chinese, in terms of getting into classes.

Do you think it’s unlikely I’ll get into 3A during phase II? There’s 2 sections.

This isn’t live enrollment numbers (I don’t know where to get those), just what I got off NinjaCourses

42/490
68/523

Woah!..how did you find that out? I wanted to phase 2 C103 too…but I guess I’ll have to phase 1 it instead of math 53 XD

get live enrollment on the schedule of classes and click the link at the bottom of each section/lecture.

It’s now 443 :)

effffff…my telebears is next friday ._.

but thanks XD

Thanks everybody! I ended up phase I’ing Math 16B, Chem 3AL, Public Policy C103, and a seminar.

so fortunate a spot opened up in the discussion I wanted in Public Policy … hope everybody’s gets into the classes they want!

Just a heads up- getting into 3AL doesn’t guarantee you a spot in 3A. There are almost 1250 freshmen taking Chem1A right now and most of them will go on to Chem3A (minus those who failed and/or weeded out). There are only about 1000 spots for Chem3A next Spring so if everybody else phase I it, you might get caught in the waitlist and not get in… which will also mean you get dropped from 3AL. Just saying.

you can always phase 2 large math classes
theres like a 25% turnover rate for the first two weeks.

When does adjustment period end and Phase II start? Should I just wait it out and if I see numbers dwindling for Chem 3A quickly, just switch Math out for the lecture?

I think you should enroll in Chem 3A. Getting a seat in that is more important since 3A is necessary for your enrollment in 3AL. Math 16B will probably be open still in phase 2. There is no adjustment period between phase 1 and 2. Adjustment period starts on January 9th, 2012 which is after phase 2 ends. I suggest you keep an eye on the enrollment for chem 3A this coming week since this is when most first years have their telebears.

Just wondering…when we choose what to phase 1, should we choose the ones that are filling up quickly? or the ones that we need for a major prereq?
