Should I drop a double major to single to > GPA?

I'm currently a double major in History and Government at an Ivy. I find that in essay-based classes such as for my majors, it's almost impossible to pull an A, while in other types of classes (that I've had to take for distributives) it's been much easier.

Given that law schools don't seem to care much about what you major in--and since my majors are very related--would it be a bad idea to drop a major and try to boost my GPA by taking 'easier' courses?

If it matters, I predict that I could raise by GPA by about .5, from mid 3.6s to low 3.7.

Worth it? Not really? What do you think?

I think so. BTW drop then one you dislike most.

It depends, if your completely set on law school than which ever serve you best. Though sometimes double majoring will help one keep vast options.

I think you should go ahead and drop one of them. I don’t think either of those majors is going to open any doors for you that the other wouldn’t, nor is anyone going to be especially impressed by that particular double major combination. I would avoid taking nothing but easy intro-level classes outside your major, though.
