I’m taking APUSH and got a C on the first exam while people who usually get grades lower than me got A’s. I can’t help but feel incredibly stupid even though my grade in the class is a B+. I already had a B last year, and one before that so I don’t want another B. I’m going to be in science but I just like history so I decided to take the course. Am I being unreasonable for dropping a course because of this???
No, bad grades happen. shrug it off and keep moving through.
If you have a B+, you should keep taking the class. SInce you like history, you may even be able to get the A. Even if you don’t, your transcript will show a good grade in a rigorous class. Possibly ask the teacher for extra credit? Just to make you feel better about it!
Keep it. A ‘B’ isn’t the worst thing in the world.
You shouldn’t compare yourself to other people, everybody is different from another. Maybe you didn’t grasp the concept in time, maybe you didn’t study effectively, think about what you did wrong this time and try to fix it in time for your next assessment. Look on the bright side, at least you passed, don’t let one relatively bad grade beat you up. Keep the class, you have no idea what the class can do for you in the future.
My kid had a 75 at 1st Q. He ended with a 90. Hang in there!
An ap class with a B or higher is good, even for top colleges. Don’t drop. The fact you like history and were willing to stick it through will help you well at application time AND most importantly during college where odds are high you’ll feel lucky to get a B at times.
