I'm a senior and I'm thinking about dropping ap calculus. Math has never been my strong suit, but I can usually manage getting a C. Anyways, I'm taking 4 aps this year, lit, Spanish Lang, gov, and calculus, but I am really not doing well in calculus. I got a 40% on our first chapter test and I feel so confused. I don't know what I want to major in yet, but I'm leaning towards English or nursing. I would take ap stat, but it doesn't fit in my schedule because I'm in yearbook. I don't want my gpa to suffer because of calc, but I want to be a competitive applicant for the universities I apply to.
What should I do?

It makes no sense for you to be in calc at all. I don’t even know why they would allow you to take that class if you struggled to pass the prerequisite for it. You also don’t want to major in something that requires calculus. I think it would be stupid if you didn’t withdraw. It looks a lot worse to have an D or F in calculus than to have an A in underwater basket weaving.
