It’s my senior year, and we’re only a few weeks into the first quarter and I’m already considering dropping a class. I’ve been receiving straight 70s on my essays, and it’s painful to get these grades because I put so much effort into my work. However, I always do poorly on the in-class essays because my mind processes things quite slow… (so how would I even excel on the AP exam?). The teacher is known for being an extremely tough grader, but there’s many kids who have gotten 80s on their essays (only a select few have received a 90). In my past Honors English classes, I always received a >90, but now that I’m taking AP, would colleges deny me because it seems as if I can’t handle it? I’m ranked #10 of my senior class, and I’m afraid of losing that rank…
Predict the grade you will get in the class, and calculate how much that one grade in AP lit should impact you.
If it’s too big, I would suggest you drop out as long as you have a decent other load of APs.
Yeah, it could harm my grade pretty bad, but the load of APs is where I go wrong! It looks like I’ll have to take the hit b/c I barely have any AP classes; I just have advanced classes :-<
