Should I Drop AP Spanish?

Hi,

I've been laboring over the summer assignment for AP Spanish, and I'm afraid the whole year will be like this-it is supposed to be pretty difficult at my school. I'm taking a lot of other AP's: Calc BC, Environmental Science, Government, English, Macroeconomics (online fall semester-microeconomics in spring) in addition to symphonic and marching band. So would it hurt me too much on college applications if i went down to normal Spanish 5? I'll be a senior this year and I have taken Pre-AP Spanish 3 and 4. Last year I took 5 AP's al well. I still have SAT IIs to prepare for, college apps, and ec's: how important is AP Spanish? My dream school is princeton, but i've long accepted this as a dream.

I would really appreciate any advice

Thanks, Michael

Let me ask you a question instead. Do you like Spanish? If not, then there’s really no point in taking it. But if you really like it and want all the benefits that will come with advanced studies in Spanish, then go for it! Don’t think of it for college apps because colleges aren’t the ones taking the class. Think of it for yourself. If you love it, the extra work won’t be work.
