I've been taking CS and business courses and right now I've come to a dilemma.

I am wondering whether its a good idea for me to stop taking CS courses and focus only on business... I'm finding it really hard to find any interest in CS. Its not that I hate it, but I don't love it either. I'm not the best at it either, and its starting to become a little more difficult now. I'd rather have a good gpa than do poorly in a class and bring it down.

Would it be better to focus on something like finance (took 2 finance courses so far and did well in them)?

I can also ask my professors from the business courses I took where I got 100s (one went to NYU Stern for MBA and manages a few billion in growth assets for a company, another did phd @ princeton and worked in top level @ morgan stanley) for future advice/recommendations. I can't say the same for my CS courses because I am doing pretty average and can't really fathom anyone giving me recommendations for getting 80s in a class.

Please let me know whether its a good idea to switch to business entirely. Thanks.

If you’re close to a minor, I would take the last few courses in order to get the CS minor. It looks very good on a resume. However, I would switch your focus to business with the exception of the remaining classes to get a minor.

so not much for a minor lol. i’m in 2nd year of college and last year i took a few courses to see if i’d like it but i am really not interested… i’m more apathetic towards it really. i know its not really the right approach but i don’t want to be more miserable down the road.

The Optimist I was going to major in computer science also but decided to do business because of a fraternity brother that was majoring and graduated last year in accounting… I do not love business administration - management … but i decided to change because i was doing really bad in my computer science class…

^Well that’s a poor reason to change your major. And management is a useless concentration for business admin. Why major in something your not going to like to do for the rest of your life…?

Depending on the university you go to, I think it may or may not be a good idea to continue with CS. Some universities produces graduates with 4.0 in business, and people are like ok that’s normal, while some produces graduates with 3.0 in business, and that’s understandable… the same can be said for CS.

Of course more importantly, your career goal… if you want to be a programmer or anything like that, then …
