Should I drop Journalism?

I'm a senior and put a lot of emphasis on my Journalism class and how I am in the club as well. Our school took out study hall and I can choose to either fill it in with a TA period (waste of time) or drop my elective and study hall. I put a lot of emphasis on this class/club on my app. I will still be doing the same work as before, just at home and during club hours, but I don't want the admissions officers to think I am slacking because I'm not. Thoughts?

i dont need the credits

I would say no. It would be like someone applying as a chemistry major but only took half a year of chemistry. I wouldn’t suggest it but I would call and ask.

I think an alternative could be to list journalism as an EC and put the # of hours where appropriate, that way it shows you’re not slacking. If you were to switch a class schedule at this point, however, some of the elite colleges require you to get permission from their school first before you can switch, so I’d call them first.
