Should I drop my Physics class?

I don't know if they still have this policy, but is 3+ years of a language still a requirement to apply to LAC's and the UC's ? I've only taken 2 years of a language as I double-loaded myself with science both my Junior and Senior year. I was wondering if I should drop my Physics class to meet their "recommendations"

feedback would be appreciated.

Check each school.

UCs require a minimum of level 2 of a foreign language (or proficiency proven in some other way, like a sufficiently high score on an AP or SAT subject test as commonly used by native or heritage speakers), but level 3+ recommended for admission. Note that in some UC cases, there may be a graduation requirement that needs higher than level 2 of (high school) foreign language.

Most selective colleges prefer to see all three of biology, chemistry, and physics for science; the UC minimum is two of these three. Note that college level courses in these subjects may list high school courses as recommended prerequisites.

3 years of a language is not a requirement for LACs - but many ‘prefer’ or ‘recommend’ 3 years. What that means is subject to debate on cc. The ‘conservatives’ say ‘why take the chance’ - do the 3 years. The ‘liberals’ say ‘If you want to do less than 3 years, make sure you have a compelling case for why it doesn’t matter.’ You can decide which school of thought fits you best - and, as always, the final authority is the school to which you are applying. Email admissions and ask.
