Should I drop my two classes??

I was recently a biology major, but now I am changing my major to business. Instead of completely bailing on a biology major, I'm going to minor in it instead. My question is should I drop my o-chem class and bio statistics class since I won't need it. I'm having a little trouble in both classes. I would prefer to not take a chance in lowering my GPA, if I do drop those two classes, I will be at a total of three Ws, will that affect my chances of getting into graduate school?

I think W’s are generally counted as C’s

Ws are not calculated into your GPA in the US. At all. Not even as a C. You can have 30 Ws and it won’t effect your GPA.

I’m not sure, but maybe nybrian meant that Ws generally have the same reputation as Cs in graduation admission decisions. “Well, he wasn’t able to succeed in the course, but he was mature and smart enough to drop it as a last resort instead of failing it altogether”

I called my local university to ask, because that made me wonder… Anyway I talked to the graduate admissions office and the woman I spoke with told me that Ws don’t mean anything. She said they look at your GPA and GRE scores. Also they look to see if you passed the required courses for whichever program you’re applying to.
