Should I drop out of my Journalism class to take Science Research instead?

I'm a junior in high school. I really like my journalism class, and it's a relaxing yet challenging way to end the school day (I have it last period), but I would also like to be in the science research class. There are some internships I'd like to join over the summer, and they place an emphasis on science research, plus it's good for college apps, PLUS (and more importantly) it's something I think I'd really enjoy and love to learn (I have no idea about science research yet and so would like to find out more). I got into the math/science research academy into my school, and they expect you to join a research class or something, but my guidance counselor said if I wanted to be in journalism, I could stay.
My journalist teacher is probably my favorite out of all of the teachers I have, and I'm getting really good grades in her class as well. It's challenging, but not crazy challenging. I really wanted to join the science research class, but I had no idea I would have to drop Journalism for it, and now I don't know what to do. Final decision tomorrow. Please help?

So which do you like better? Forget college apps and what will look good and all of that.

Which do you like better? Do you think you’d enjoy the science research class more? Or journalism?

You seem to really enjoy journalism. If you love journalism more than research, I suggest you stay.

Do you have an idea of what you want to major for college? Forget what the apps will look like to counselors, but just a major you would choose during the application process.

do the science research… even if you like journalism better, you should find out how you feel about research now. and if you really life it, then you’ll have all these opportunities that’ll be useful for college apps and for actual college

Thanks, everyone. I’m going to stay in Journalism. :)
