Should I drop Physics 2?

I'm currently in Physics 1 now, and might skate by with a B in the class. Let me explain my situation. I'm currently taking Physics at a community college this summer while home from university. I thought it would be easier, and it is. I understand the concept of Physics and everything I've been taught to it's full extent. I should have a high A. The problem is, my professor is very picky on giving A's. He believes only perfection deserves an A. I've been getting all the problems right, and I might be off by a significant figure or forget to show my data before I start solving the problem, but still get the answer right and score an 80 on a test.

Now my question is this. Should I go ahead and drop Physics 2, which I'm signed up for to take in a week under the same professor? I feel as though I'm being cheated out of an A when I know the material. But at the same time, he's good at teaching the subject and I understand it fully. I just hate I'm not getting the grade I deserve when I know all the concepts.

Note: I'm a pre-dentistry major, so Physics is NOT on the DAT, which is the dental entrance exam. Should I just look elsewhere next summer to take Physics 2 where I would have a better chance at making an A?

All answers will be greatly appreciated.

In my experience with any classes involving math, both in high school and college, instructors always required us to show the right significant figures and all of the work. If you’re learning the material well with this prof, I’d stick with him, as almost all profs are “picky” like that, but it can be difficult to get a prof who can teach so effectively.
