So we have a new teacher in physics this year and he's a very critical teacher, but poor at teaching. The way he teaches things makes me feel even more confused than I was before and the book isn't very helpful either since it explains things differently than he does and I just don't know which to follow. So far in my high school career, I have not slipped from a 4.0, and I certainly don't want to start now, especially because my dream school is one of the top 15. So far, homework is 10% of the grade and quizzes are also 10%. We only had two homework assignments, and I got one back today with an 85%. The pop quiz we took yesterday was out of 2 points, and I got a 0. My teacher isn't very approachable and he doesn't allow retakes either. I know it's only the beginning of class, but I feel like I'm already heading towards a B (if I get lucky) or lower....Should I just drop the class to keep that 4.0 GPA? Thanks!

bump…bump…

In my opinion, Physics is a really cool and useful class, but I usually try to schedule my classes in such a way that I’ll get good teachers (which is really important to me). I wouldn’t normally advise someone to drop a class because it isn’t going well, but if the teacher is that bad, you’re not going to enjoy the class and you’ll be stressing out about the AP test even more. I wouldn’t blame you if you did drop it, it may be a better idea to take another AP class with a good teacher.

Bad teacher? No problem. At least you have review books. Enjoy their existence while they last and stay in the class!

dont drop tough it through. were all doing it. and pick a safety school aiming for top 15 isnt best idea… what are ur stats?
