Should I drop physics?

Well, here's the thing... Today at noon is the last day to drop classes for this semester at my community college. I've applied to Berkeley, and they require a Physics 4B class to transfer... But I really want to drop this class.

If I get accepted to Berkeley and I don't have Physics 4B (even though I put it in my WIP) will they cancel my admission? Berkeley decisions aren't until 4PM today, but I need to drop by noon :(

if i were you, i really wouldnt risk it.

Teachers usually have some lax in the drop date, just tell them to write the date to be today.

Yeah, I just talked to my teacher about it... He said that it absolutely has to be in today by noon.

And the problem with staying in the class is... The highest I'll get is a C. If I don't get into Berkeley, the college I'm going to doesn't require Physics, so I'll be working my ass off for a C in a class I don't need (thus bringing down my GPA).

Plus, my UC GPA is only 3.6, so there's a good chance I won't be accepted to Berkeley computer science.

Gah, what a fix :(

damn...you're in a very tough situation huh.
perhaps u should call berkeley up right now, explain ur situation, and ask them if u can know the status of your application, since its out today anyways.

Great idea, lilimui. I just gave a call to an admission's officer and he said that it wouldn't matter if I dropped the class because they would've already made their decision.

It seems a bit weird that it would be just fine, but he was an admissions officer and I'm sure he knows more than me, so I think I can safely drop the class.

Besides, I figure the chance that I'll get accepted AND then they'll deny me is less than the chance that I'll just get denied, so statistically it would make sense for me to drop the class.

Thanks for the help, guys :)

so what are you going to do, drop a required course? so its not going to affect your admission?
