Hey Guys,

I'm currently a sophomore accountancy major/finance minor with a 3.96 GPA at a school with a very good business program and great reputation (the big 4 regularly recruit and are on campus weekly). I chose to take Sociology, along with 4 other classes, making this semester a 20 credit one.

The problem is that I do not care for the material within the sociology class, the sociology professor, or his grading system. This professor has a reputation for giving students who deserve "C"'s a "B-", and students who deserve "A"'s "B+"'s. I find this irritating, as I have find myself putting in quality work that would have earned an "A" in most classes, and getting "B+"'s. This will bring down my GPA by about .1.

I will not have to repeat sociology if I drop it.

I am seriously considering withdrawing from this class because if I stay in it, I will get a B or B+ which will bring down my GPA by about .1.

A withdrawal will have NO IMPACT on anything (not course selection, won't delay graduation, won't need to repeat anything) so the only thing I'm worried about is the effect of a "W" on my transcript. Does this look bad? I hope to work for a "Big 4" accounting firm, and I also never plan on withdrawing from any class in the future, and getting A's with the occasional A- or B+.

All responses are greatly appreciated.
