Should I drop this class?

Hi, I'm brand new to this forum so sorry for posting in a category that isn't the best.

I'm an English major in the midwest. I'm taking 15 credits. Right now, I'm thinking about dropping a class called crime scene science. It's a 101 class. Now, the reasons I want to drop it are:

1.) Although I need another science class, I don't necessarily need this one. This class has a lab and I don't need one with a lab. I feel like I'll be spending a lot of time doing unneccesary work. If I drop it, I'll do a science next year without a lab.
2.) My course load of kind of heavy. I don't want my other classes to suffer because of this one.
3.) The course is heavy in chemistry, and I never took a decent chemistry class in high school.
4.) The teacher isn't the nicest. I went to see her in her office and she just kept repeating herself and didn't seem to care.

The reasons I would want to keep it is because
1.) I don't want a big "W" for 'withdrawal' on my record. How bad is that to have?
2.) If I drop it I'll be at 12 credits, the bare minimum, which is less then I'd like to take on, but I feel that my 15 is too much.
3.) The material is interesting, although difficult.

I feel silly for wanting to drop a 100 level class because of it's difficulty. It makes me feel ashamed. But I don't want to be doing a lot of unnecessary work in labs. The semester has just started, however, and I supposed I could stick it out a little and see if I will be able to handle it, but my courseload will probably get heavier. Does anyone have any input? Is it worth it to have some more breathing and free time but have a big W on my transcript?

Before dropping the class you might explore options for extra help. But if you do end up dropping, don’t worry about the W. Do what makes sense for you and your workload, even if you have to make up a class over the summer.

If you really feel like this class might bring down all your other grades, then one ‘W’ is better than a whole year full of mediocre grades.
