So, currently my senior schedule is:
AP Lit
AP Bio
AP Spanish
AP Calc BC (already took AB)
AP Physics
AP ES

I'm a straight A student and I'm aiming for Ivy League schools but I just think this schedule is going to be way too time-consuming. I'm thinking of switching AP Physics to AP Stats, would this come off as a bit too easy senior schedule, what with APES and AP Stat (the blow-off ap's at my school)?

I'm confident I can get straight A's if I drop ap physics, and then I'd actually have time, I think. How time-consuming was AP Physics in your experience? Is this something adcoms would care about for me (34 ACT, 800, 780, 780, 3/500 with ec's and leadership) Any and all input is welcome :D

You don’t make any mention of what actually interests you. You are gunning for achievement over education. It’s pretty unattractive.

I think that the schedule that you have is too time-consuming. In our HS AP Bio has the workload of 3 honors classes.

I don’t see the logic of taking BC after taking AB. Why didn’t you just take BC to begin with. Does your school do BC over two years (not a crazy idea). If there are going to be students in your BC class who haven’t taken AB, then 2/3 of the class is going to be a repeat.

ES and Stats are one semester college classes that are slowed down to cover a full year for HS students. Bio, Physics and Calc are full year college classes at a college pace.

Is your goal to work really hard now to get into a place like Harvard where you’ll never have to work that hard again?

That is a heavy schedule. Although the Calc shouldn’t be too difficult until the end since you had AB. All you will have to worry about it performing well in the first semester, lol. You can slack a bit the second semester as long as you maintain some level, but not have to worry about all A’s. You might want to drop the calc. Did you already have regular Physics or Bio? If so then you can drop one.

To be perfectly honest, at this point I’m strongly considering being a philosophy major. (Might just be the definition of passion/interest over pragmatism) Now given, that I’ve taken all classes even tangentially related to that major, and there’s only a handful of other AP’s I haven’t taken there’s not a huge selection for me to choose from.

I guess I did phrase this question a bit oddly, I know the BC situation is weird, about 1/2 or 2/3 of our class took AB last year, it’s odd.

I think I’m set on dropping Physics, that’ll get me out a lot of summer work haha. I’m going to try and switch it with Stats or with Chem and APES for Stats.

And yes, I’ve taken honors physics and honors bio. I guess I was just curious if this was a perceptible drop in difficulty that would factor into adcoms’ decisions
