A couple of months ago, a student representative from Yale spoke to my class about Yale. Until then, I had assumed that the only economically feasible option for me was to go to school at a public university in state. Of course, due to the need based financial aid that many top schools offer, I was wrong. The student from Yale’s presentation captured my attention, and with further (rather obsessive) research into the school, I fell in love with it.
Unfortunately, I am now beginning my senior year. Although I have managed to maintain good grades and get decent test scores, my extra curriculars are weak at best compared to many of the accepted (and rejected) applicants.
If you really want, you can apply just for peace sake so you dont keep asking yourself would i have gotten in. Make sure you have other matches and safeties
Thanks for the input! I meant to give a bit more info about my situation, but I accidentally posted the comment prematurely. For whatever reason, I couldn’t post the completed edit, so I just started a new thread. But thanks for responding, I totally agree with your advice.
@ReginaMills On CC you cant edit a post 15 minutes after posting
Though I believe that earlier preparation would guarantee more organization and success, you should still apply. Who knows while writing the application, you have realized you had done something amazing! Don’t worry about grades and test scores too much. Also, have you taken SAT or ACT? Take one of them before November. Good luck and best wishes!
P.S. Make sure you do REALLY WELL on ESSAYS as well as have GREAT TEACHER RECOMMENDATIONS. They could be deciding factors whether you’ll get into Yale or not.
