Should I even Apply?

<p>Ok, i know a bunch of you guys are stressing about admission but if you guys could take a minute to look at my chances that would be great. Thank You in advance</p>

<p>Chance me please for Cal Poly Early Decision 2010</p>

<p>Major- Biological Sciences</p>

<p>GPA- 3.5 uw, 3.6 uc/csu gpa, and 3.9 weighted, i have taken 12 AP/H freshman to junior year. I plan on taking AP Biology and AP Calculus BC next year</p>

<p>ACT- 31</p>

<p>Extracurricular:
Volunteer

  1. 200 hr. at local hospital
  2. 100 hr. assistant throwing coach
  3. 50 hr. local foodbank
  4. 50 hr. Boys and Girls Club</p>

<p>Clubs/Sports

  1. 4 year track and field (Captain, 4 year varsity)
  2. 4 year California Scholarship Federation
  3. 4 year MESA
  4. 4 year National Honors Society</p>

<p>Awards

  1. Ap scholar
  2. 2008 most improved thrower
  3. 2008 League Champion
  4. 2009 League Champion</p>

<p>While all your ECs and clubs are wonderful, Cal Poly doesn’t put much weight in them. You only have a few short answers in regards to this, as well as work experience. But, for UCs and private schools they mean more. But, mostly they’re looking for someone who has a PASSION for something, rather than spreading themselves thin with a boatload of ECs and activities.</p>

<p>so… what are my chances? my gpa is about .25 under average for college of math and science but my ACT is 3 pts. above average</p>
