Should I even bother apply to SIMR, RSI, etc.?

Hi everyone! Just to give a little context about myself... I really like science, but the opportunities I have at my school are somewhat limiting. We don't even have an AP Chem class, arghhhh! I also like Economics, and I'm starting to start an Economics club, do DECA, etc. Our DECA department has been really strong these past few years (maybe because they only let juniors+ take it?) and I'm hoping to go to nationals these next two years. I'll also be doing research etc. in business and Ecnomics. HOWEVER, again, the science thing... Should I even bother apply to these programs with such an Economics / business foundation as of now? Thanks!

P.S.
I'm only in precalculus as of now :(... So next year (junior year) will be my first year of Calculus.

Probably not RSI as that is very very competitive, not to mention has a lot of paperwork as well. SIMR is worth applying to though.

I just found out I have the possibility to do some science research under a program called “scholars of distinction”! Yay! However, there’s another problem… How in the hell do I get enough money to do the research? One agar of cells is like $500 dollars! One tube of cDNA is like $400! Ahhh!
