I am a second semester freshmen with a gpa of 3.64.

Im taking relatively difficult classes and am above the allowed credit load for my school, I intend on doing better the second semester, though they wont really see that when reviewing my application.

I have a rather low sat of 1800 and a 27 on my ACT.

Both of which I know are lower than NYU's standards.

I can write a killer essay and would be applying to the school of Arts and Sciences.
My GPA in highschool was about the same.

I took three ap courses and had some extracurriculars and work experience but not a ridiculus list.

I feel pretty lame and hopeless.
Make me feel better, worse, or at least save me the 65 dollars?

Take a look at the essay questions, see if they speak to you, and they do, and you really think you could write amazing essays, then go for it. From asking around, NYU is known for making surprise decisions when people are underqualified in terms of scores or grades.

I thought you were a freshman in high school so i was like what the heck haha but Apply. You have a chance because NYU not only looks at grades. They really do look at everything else besides grades. Hey, i got a 31 on my ACT and i applied to Yale. (total waste for my part) but NYU is really not all about grades and GPA. be creative on your essays and responses bc they like diversity. I applied there this year and I tried to be creative but not so creative that it didnt make sense.

27 is not that bad for NYU. My friend got a 25 but he still applied. Is it possible for you to retake it? Even if you didnt you should defenitely apply because you have a chance. Good Luck!
