Should I even bother applying to the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor?

<p>I have a decent GPA, but my SATs are really holding me back imo.</p>

<p>-3.77 UW GPA with 10 APs/honors courses
-1940 SAT (590 CR, 670 M, 680 W)
-Great recommendations
-Good essay about how I overcome abuse
-Mediocre extracurriculars although I did start an app development company with a teen from Sweden</p>

I’d say with the company you started if you’re applying to Ross it’s a very high match - very low reach</p>

<p>Ranseurus, don’t talk about abuse unless you frame it in a very positive way. The problem is, UMichigan in the end is a corporation just like all the other Universities. Whether or not you are, UMichigan may fear that you are suicidal. Try changing topics?</p>

<p>It is a low reach for oos, high match for in state. Most counselor will encourage students to try at least 1 or 2 more competitive schools.There is always a chance if you apply.</p>

<p>I got in for Fall 2012 with a 3.75 unweighted and 1970 SAT as an OOS applicant. You should be good.</p>
