Should I bother applying... like do i have at least have a little possibility or chances are i wont get admission... and if thats the case let me know because I rather spend the 65 bux somewhere else where i have a chance

I got in EA and my scores were much lower than yours. But I've come to realize that scores at Harvard don't gurantee admission by any means. You have to relay something special about yourself, something sparkling, that conveys your characteristics beyond simple test scores. They want something that sets you apart from the thousands of others that have excellent SATs and excellent class rank. However, your SATs are excellent.

That being said, your scores are certainly at "Harvard Level," so I would strongly encourage you to apply if want to go to Harvard. Statistically speaking, you are one of the higher chance applicants. Obviously I'm not an expert, and I'm shocked myself that I got in, but it's just my opinion. As long as you really put your heart in your application and reveal something extraordinary about yourself, you should have a great shot at admission. But then again, no one ever knows what will happen as the Harvard adcoms seem to have their own ways of thinking.

Oh--- so my advice is... APPLY RIGHT NOW!!!

knight miller......any advice for me??

SAT II - Math IIC- 800. Physics - 770, Chemistry - 770
GPA: 3.86 (unweighted...there is no weighted GPA for us)

Essays: well, i guess i wrote it well....topic is somewhat new, and is totally about me..but i am not sure though whether it is entirely a different topic.

And I am an international looking for financial aid to cover almost all costs!!

a word of advice to all those posting chances threads-
do not base your decision to apply on the well-meaning but often wrong opinions of those who reply. (and i mean that in the nicest way possible :) )when i posted my stats under my old username, i was told that my ec's were weak and my chances were decent but not great-and i got in. you never know what harvard's going to do...just look at the amazing kids who got deferred. so apply- other than the app fee, there's really nothing to lose. good luck to all!

woahh...good for you...congratulations
was it your essay??
any idea on what type of essay harvard wants.

ntek, based on your stats and extra curriculars I'd definitely apply if I were you.

I'm sending you a pm to work with you a little on your essay topic.

I think you have a good chance---you seem well-rounded. However, I think it will be important for you to distinguish yourself in your essay. Do you have any special experiences and/or circumstances that would distinguish you from the rest of the applicant pool? Also--- the interview is an crucial opportunity for you to seperate yourself from everyone else. I think my interview was one of the deciding factors that pushed me into the acceptance pile. I understand that you are an international, so an interview may not be possible. As I can see, Harvard is looking for some passionate individuals--- remarkable people. You have good stats, but you need to convey to Harvard what makes you so remarkable. Grades and test scores are only one-dimensional. Harvard adcoms see in 3-D. Like I mentioned to the previous person, HARVARD ADCOMS ARE UNPREDICTABLE AND THERE IS NOT TELLING WHO WILL OR WILL NOT GET IN.

If you want anymore advice on your App, you can PM me. But as everyone else is aware, I'm not an expert-- so everything I say certainly shouldn't be taken as fact. I was accepted though, and I would like to think that I somewhat-knew what I was doing on the app. lol :)
