Should I even bother applying ????

<p>Gpa: 3.5 unweighted 4.25 weighted
ACT : 35 English 32 math 31 reading 26 science Composite :31</p>

<p>rank Top 15% out of 800 students</p>

<p>school is nationally ranked.</p>

<p>I know my gpa is awful but I have gottten straight As the past 3 semesters( I didn't really try my best freshman/ beggining of sophomore year)</p>

<p>Volunteered at a center for high risk teenagers on west side of chicago( kids who are likely to join gangs). During that time i helped built a memorial for a hit and run victim and was part of the first ever planted memorial in a city and was in a doccumentry for my participation.</p>

<p>Peer Jury
Part of a jury made up of teenagers that questioned offenders about their crime and determined an appropriate punishment.</p>

<p>Republican committee
Volunteered and fundraised for various politicians including republican presidential nominee Newt Gingrich</p>

<p>Peer minister
Taught a group of 15 or 20 kids catholic faith each week.</p>

<p>Teddy bears
-created a Program at my church in which I single handedly raised over $1,500 to provide children of deployed troops a teddy bear accompined by a message of support.</p>

<p>Church social justic program leader
- created various social justice projects with a group of other teenagers at my church .</p>

Recieved a grant from my community to help keep charity going.

<p>Besides your unweighted GPA, you definitely stand a chance, especially if you write a great essay. Don’t choose not to apply somewhere because you don’t think you’ll get in, because then your chance of getting in really will be 0%!</p>

<p>you have a lot of ECs. and georgetown claims to care more about the overall person than just their statistics and etc. hopefully that will come through a lot in your application, plus if you showed improvement in grades throughout high school that would look really good as well. ( I have mostly straight As throughout high school but my grades in each subject are basically flat lined. for example, always take the hardest math class but no matter how hard i try cant get above an A- for each year in math)

<p>I think your chance are pretty good… Obviously the gpa is low, but if you show them that you have worked hard to get it up, it will definitely go far… Do you do any sports or music stuff?</p>
