Should I even bother applying?

I’ve already asked for recommendations and everything, but the more I think about it, I just don’t see how I even have a chance.

I already have like 4 C’s (2 from AP Bio) and from that Amherst admissions video I saw, it seems like bad grades are an automatic rejection.

Before, I was determined to apply no matter what. But if I don’t even have a decent chance, should I even bother?

Brown is my #1 choice, but still, it seems so unrealistic for me to even apply.

You should never not apply to a school just because you think you won't get in.

Sure, you probably have a low chance of getting in, but what's the harm in trying right? Maybe admissions will look past those C's and they will see something else that is unique about you. You never know...just apply if you really want to go.

I'm not really sure about the AP system, but seriously, if you want to go - I really think you should apply, take that chance.

Make sure your other schools are schools you want to go to, and are more 'reachable', but honestly, it won't hurt to try. Believe in yourself, and really, just do it!! :)

Honesty, I don't see it. 4 C's is a lot. But if you think you have a unique way to present yourself and if you have some interesting talent/ability to highlight, it's up to you. Much may depend on where you come from too. Are you URM? from obscure state? recruitable athlete?
