Should I even bother applying?

I honestly don't think I stand a chance so here goes nothing

I want to major in history or politics so I'm hoping my science grades dont' weigh me down as much as I think they will. I go a public school in CT that is nationally ranked and sends many kids to Ivy Leagues and Top LAC's. I haven't taken my SAT's yet(will be doing so in March). My expected score is around a 1950/2000. Also my course load is in the top 3% for challenging. I have some kick ass recomendations lined up and my essays will be good as well. My school does not rank AT ALL.

thts a total of 8 languages

I don’t know if this helps or not but this year 4 kids from my school got into Goergetown via early action!

You would be foolish not to apply for two reasons:

1) If you don’t apply, you will 100% for sure not get in

2) Your profile appears to be a strong one for a Gtown applicant. Keep those grades strong, your course load challenging and hopefully your SATs will come in strong. I think you are certainly in the ballpark so why not apply? Good luck~

YOu have some interesting aspects to your anticipated application (I like the various languages), but your transcript, while strong, has some clear weaknesses and an essay in the 1950/2000 range will be a strike against you. That being said, I strongly agree with Point 1 above^^

I understand that my transcript is weaker than the average applicants. However I feel that my extra carricular activities and interests are very strong. If I can get my SAT score up into the 2100’s or above would that help?

Clearly that would help, depending mostly on the M and CR scores.

Yeah, I’ve heard Georgetown doesn’t look at the Writing Section which sucks for me because I tend to score really well in writing! My CR score is in the higher range for G-Town actually (according to the practice tests I’ve taken). So now its time to work on my math skills.
