Should I even bother with ACT's/SAT's?

Some of the colleges I want to go to don't require the ACT's/SAT's, one even said that standernized test was the least weighted thing in the admission's porcess.

So I was wondering should I even bother with this?

Yes, still take one of them. It’s best to be prepared, because you might suddenly fall in love with a college that requires test scores.

The cost of admissions insurance is $40 and a few hours of your time. And if you score really well, you can hold it over your kid’s heads when they’re this age ;)

I would definitely suggest taking the SAT/ACT. You never know what will come up. You may change your mind about schools during the application process or you may end up wanting to transfer after one semester and your new dream school may ask to see test scores.

I notice that you said “some” and not “all,” which means that some of them DO require the tests. And that’s the answer to your question right there.

Also, even for the test-optional schools, good test scores can help a lot in the admission process.

Many test-optional schools still considet the scores for merit aid.

At least take the tests, you never know how well you could do. If you the scores are bad, then you have back ups lined up. If they’re good, then more doors will open up for you.
