Btw, I am currently undecided on my major. (could go business, or something that would help in law school maybe, or economics, or political science/gov )

With all this stated, should I really bother applying to HARVARD EA?

If the answer is no, which one of the following schools would give me the best chance in early admissions (in order of preference)

 1. UPENN
 2. Duke
 3. NORTHWESTERN
 4. Emory
 5. Cornell

i guess i shouldnt bother?

u should bother

I believe in u!

Miracles do come true. Besides, it wont be exactly a miracle if u get in. U seem qualified. theyre just msd random when selecting who comes.

i think you should apply!

you will forever regret the possibility of you maybe getting in if yo udont apply/

I'd do Emory, Cornell, Duke, and Northwestern. UPenn if you ED.

You would have a really good chance at Emory, Cornell, Northwestern, and maybe Duke. Apply to Harvard if you would regret not doing it. You have really good community service and work experience, and your parents have less than a high school education. That is your unique point and will help. Duke pays close attention to ECs, so it will help there, too. Community service, work, and making the most of your opportunities- all of these schools love that. You should do well.

anyone else think i should give a shot (and have a shot)?

If you apply to Harvard EA, figure you'll have at best a 10% chance of being accepted. Most likely, you'll get deferred, and then wait-listed or rejected. You'd have a better chance at Penn, somewhere in the neighborhood of 20%, but not at Wharton, which is brutally difficult to get into. Your chances at Duke are probably about the same as your chances at Penn. You almost certainly will have much better chances at Emory, Northwestern, and Cornell, either ED or RD.

By the way, if you're considering Emory, you should take a look at Washington University in St. Louis. It's ranked #12 by US News, has a top ranked business school, a really nice campus, and is chock full of smart, friendly kids. Your current stats would make you a competitive applicant there.

With your real job experience and exceptional scores, you have a legit shot at Wharton. While your stuff isnt perfect, your work ethic pluss keeping your grades afloat are better than a 4.0, 2400 who does the basic ECs. IMO working at a burger place is a better experience than joining a million random clubs. I would apply Wharton ED. What can you lose: about 10 hours of work at minimum wage. What can you gain: instant wealth after undergrad. After doing that quick pros and cons, I think it may be worth the cash to try for Wharton. Well I guess one con is not getting enough aid and being stuck with a 45k/year tab.

O, and any major will get you into Law School so long as your GPA and LSATs are straight. If you major in something hard like engineering it looks better (with the same GPA) than majoring in polysci.

if its your dream, give it a shot no question about it.
