Should I even self study AP Env?

I was just wondering if I should even self study for the AP Environmental Science test in my senior year if the colleges won't even get the scores until like 2 months before I attend their school. And plus, will they even see it when I send my transcript when I apply?

Well if you told the colleges you’re applying to that you’re gonna self study for the test, then take it, or they’re gonna wonder why you didn’t. APES isn’t a particularly difficult test to study for, either, so just go for it.

But if you haven’t applied yet or didn’t make a big deal about your love of the environment and your self-determined abilities to take a test without a class, don’t take the test.

Who knows, they may say hey! This kid is so awesome, he’s self-studying for a test his senior year. He’s so splendid.

The most copetitive colleges are not huge fans of AP-Env. It won’t hurt you, but it doesn’t count as much as AP BIO, CHEM or PHYS. It shows that you are willing to take on a challenge, but you will need a challenging course load for that. If you don’t want to do it, don’t do it. It will not affect your Ivy apps. If you are going to a state U and you want the credits, then go for it.
