Should I even try to apply?

Well I'm an upcoming senior this year, and I wanted to apply to Columbia.
Up until highschool I never though about presitigious colleges and just dreamt low.

My stats are:
I'm asian btw
4.0 unweighted gpa
4.6 exact weight gpa (expected to be a 4.67-4.7 after I've completed senior year)
SAT: 1940 (it hurts.., but I'm retaking it this October to try to get it to 2100+)
SAT 2: 770 math 2, 650 ush (it hurtss, but I probably won't send in), TBA physics (taking it this november)
Senior course work: AP Gov, AP Lit&Comp, AP Calc BC, AP Comp Sci A, AP Physics, graphic design(need art for 1 year)

I'm asking if I bring my sat score up to 2100+ (I'm confident I'll get it to at least 2100 this Oct.), do I stand a chance in applying, statistically speaking, b/c I know there are many other factors that are considered.
And If not Columbia what other Ivies or colleges, if any, should I apply to that would give me the best chances?

I think you should at least try.

My suggestion to you is for you to aim much higher than a 2100. In fact, aim for a perfect score. I’m not saying that if you don’t make a perfect score you won’t get in, because that’s certainly not the case. If you aim higher and work for a 2400, you’ll probably score higher - BUT if aiming that high is intimidating and will psych you out, disregard that advice.

As far as other Ivies go, Cornell, Brown, and Penn have higher acceptance rates than Columbia.

Definitely try. Just study you’re ass of this summer and get that score up! Aim for 2250+
