Hey guys! I am currently a sophomore right now in high school. My goal is to become a doctor some day. Some people want to become doctors because of the money but I want to become a doctor to help people who don't have arms and legs and maybe someday make artificial neuron (I know crazy dream right?). I recently received my transcript and I am currently ranked 44 which is top 6% for my school. The main thing I am worried about is the amount of competition in my school. I'll be honest. I don't exactly like studying. I don't enjoy putting in the extra time to study. I usually just do the bear minimum and somehow I end up getting decent grades. Almost everyone I know in the top 10 students want to become a doctor, and they study all the time! Its like they enjoy studying. They also all take kumon and other prep courses. I don't because I think they are a waste of time, and I think I can teach myself. But how do I compete with people like this? Becoming a doctor is all about competition right? Is my rank in school even good enough to become a doctor? Should I just try to find another goal that is not as competitive? or should I continue trying to become a doctor?

P.S.- I live in Texas if this info is needed.
