Umich is my dream school but I am really disappointed about my Oct SAT score(first time taking)..I've taken ACT before but I made 24 on that so it's useless..I was planning to apply for EA as soon as I see my score but I got 1910 which is pretty bad for umich.. I am taking the reasoning test again in December and I think I can score over 2000 but if I apply after december test then isnt it too late for rolling admission? everyone applies early so I heard that you have a slim slim chance if you apply that late...... plus my score SUCKs.
Do I stand a chance..I am OOS

A 1910 isn’t going to be what gets you rejected. If you have excellent grades and strong courses, then you definitely have a chance. If not, a 1910 wouldn’t help you out of that.

1st quarter has ended and I made straight A’s but my school says they don’t include quarter grade in transcipts.
What should I do? If i apply as RD, I will have straight A’s for 1st semester of senior yr and that will be counted towards my cumulative GPA.

Apply now. You’ll still have improved your chances. Submit the 1910, but not the 24. In the special comments area of the application, explain your first quarter grades and tell them or note the improvement trend from grade 11.

I know someone who got in with a 24 on their ACT. It happens, man. What’s your GPA/ECs/etc? Umich is very forgiving, but make sure you apply soon!

Of course you should! A slew of kids from my high school got in with GPAs far lower than yours (3.5-3.6) and ACT scores around the same (25s and 26s respectively). Although they were mostly female, impoverished, a minority, or a combination of the three, which seems to be UMAA’s fetish. But give it a shot anyways, your GPA falls within the middle 50%. See what happens.

Thank you all so much for replying!! Here is what I am worried about.
Right now, I have 3.7uw with 1910. Cr+M (1250)
I am retaking the test next week and again in december. I will get over 2000 because this was my first time taking without so much prepping.
So, say, if I apply within a week or so, umich only sees my 3.7uw GPA with 1910.
If I apply after december, then my GPA would have improved due to straight a’s in my senior year and I will have 2000+ SAT by then. So, if I apply after december, they will see 3.8 with 2000+.
I was going to wait and apply later and prepare a little more mean while. But does acceptance rate really differ a lot depending on how early you apply?
So what should I do??? should I apply within a week with my horrible stats or wait until after december and apply with better stats??

Umich is my dream school and whichever I choose to apply, I will apply but I dont know which ones better. I don’t want them to see my 3.7 with 1910 and reject me …then I won’t even have a chance for RD when my stats are actually better…

We don’t rank. We just have 4 quartiles and I just know that I belong to the first quartile… my courses won’t be rigorous compared to other applicants but rigorous enough for my highschool.

apply now; worse come to worse; you’ll be deferred (but I don’t think so) and you can submit your senior grades which show the improvement…dont’ wait until RD; hasn’t worked out well for the past few years

Oh wow, I would certainly say apply especially if you would like to attend. I myself have stats below their average but since I would like to attend I at least applied. Worst case would be as you’ve stated it’s your dream school so why wouldn’t you apply to at least get some percent of chance getting admitted ( whether its 20 percent etc… or not) though right now with no application submitted how could you be even trying to get accepted? This applies to myself due to my own stats as well.

^^ I wasn’t sure whether I should apply early with below average stats or later with improved stats but i think I will give a try at EA. Thank you :()
