Should i even try?

Tents, you must be new to this discussion. Before you commit yourself too deeply in slander/libel, please think about the following:

-How many honor violations? Allow me to assist you. If one is to believe the slanderous anonymous bloggists, he did go before the honor board three times. How many times was he found guilty?

-To prosecute for drug offenses, one must have KNOWINGLY injested drugs. Several active duty O-5s have been found not guilty because it was not proven that they knowingly committed the offense. There is an individual on this forum who would almost lead you to believe that he was hiding in the wings of Smoke Hall witnessing the actual act, but short of that, do you have any evidence that he was a knowing participant.

So true and in more ways than most can imagine.
But, hey, don’t convince us. Convince the 3/C on his way to glee club practice whining about football players getting special treatment that the only reason glee club exists is because that football player is bringing in money to the Academy.

Even though you made a mistake there is no reason in not trying. If attending an academy is something you really want to set your mind to, then do it. What is the worst thing that could happen? If you do decide that you want to attend USNA/USMA/USAFA, then you need to keep your grades up, challenge youself with advanced and honors classes, get involved in extracurricular organizations (student govt, fbla, nhs, fea, etc), and try to take on leadership roles in anything you can. You are already moving in the right direction with NJROTC and sports. Stay in both! NJROTC isnt a huge factor in the admissions process, but it looks good. Try attending the summer seminar and a football/wrestling/track camp to see if going to the academy is something you want to do. You will also be able to gauge yourself in terms of the competition. Take the SATs as many times as you can before applying to the academy and stay out of trouble! Good luck on getting in

Just one more wind/bad breath story. This is urban mythology. There is NO WAY football “makes” $$ at USNA or any of the other SAs. That is pure urban mythology for institutions like this. Mombee conveniently dismisses the cost of educating these athletes, a great many of whom would not be at USNA, were they not recruited athletes. And let’s not forget the NAPS bill, too. Again, a silly mombeeian claim with zero facts or data to back it up. Gotta wonder if he’s getting his economic and financial data from the same source proclaiming that our dandy healthcare program will cost the taxpayers LESS! Uh huh.

And for sure …the Glee Club doesn’t exist at the pleasure and mercy of any surplus revenue from football.

Now, having exposed this alleged “fact”, be sure I am NOT advocating elimination or diminishment of football. I enjoy the games and being part of a winner as much as the next pig. And it’s always great beating Army …year after year after year. Right JAM? But, proclaiming USNA supports the Glee Club, and thus implying it is the great funder of all non-football ECs at the Yard? Pure poppeycock!
