I have severe ADHD and am usually on medicine, but last year I had to go off my normal medicine for a semester because it conflicted with a skin disorder medicine that I had to stay on for nine months… the medicine they prescribed me to replace my working ADHD medication did not work and actually lead me into a depressive spiral, which in turn made me earn an awful grade. Should I explain this to the college admissions to explain a bad grade? All my other grades are 100-80 but this one was 55.
Your GC should address this, not you. But it will be difficult to explain a single grade that way. A semester or year, yes.
