Should I explain our grading system in the additional information section?

I'm a homeschooled student, and today I learned that my umbrella program will not, under any circumstances, list an unweighted GPA on my transcript. This leaves me with a weighted GPA of 4.29, which is brought down by post-AP and otherwise advanced classes I have taken. Even though colleges will be able to see the transcript that my umbrella program uploads (and individual letter grades), should I explain the weighted GPA situation in the additional information section of the Common Application?

It seems odd to me that some of my easiest classes (e.g. AP Microeconomics) are bringing my GPA up, while exceeding difficult, exploratory classes (e.g. Bioinformatics) are bringing it down. :(

It doesn’t matter. Im not as familiar with the homeschooled interworkings but you still have some version of the SSR, correct? This would be included in there. Also, many schools calculate weighted like that, so its not unusual. As long as they can see your individual letter grades, you should be fine.
