Should I explain the only "B" on my transcript?

Pretty self-explanatory.

During my English final I got sick and had to leave 20 minutes in. Because I was a good student, my professor offered to just give me a C on the exam instead of making me come back in to retake it or grading my first attempt. I felt uncomfortable insisting that she let me retake it because she was trying to be nice and genuinely thought she was doing me a favor.

Anyways, that C resulted in a final grade of a B+ for the course, the only non-A I’ve received in my 3 semesters of college.

Should I explain this on my transfer apps or does it just seem unnecessary and over the top?

I’m at a community college, if that makes any difference.

Nope, seems unncessary

No. That would only point out to them that you think it is an issue, which may tell them you are grade obsessed! It’s not an issue. At all;)

where you are trying to apply to, op?

@bvo112 Columbia, Brown, GWash, Barnard, Tufts and a few others, plus some safeties. Do you think I should offer an explanation?

No do not offer the explanation. It may come off as whiney even if that’s not what you mean it to come off as. You won’t be rejected or accepted because of 1 B+
