I was waitlisted at my top school and wasn’t told that I didn’t get off the waitlist until May 12th. I put a deposit down at James Madison University, my second choice, and I just found out that the housing deadline is May 15th. I don’t know if I should find a roommate using JMU’s roommate search or if I should just go random. I did find 3 people that I could see myself rooming with since we had similar interests and want the same things in a roommate. Do you think that most people that wanted to find a roommate have already found one already? I only have today and tomorrow to find a roommate. What should I do?
When you say “go random” is there any kind of questionnaire and matching? If there is some minimal matching, like putting night owls together or neatniks together, I’d go random. If none, go with the kids you found.
You can always ask any of those people if they have a roommate yet. If they don’t, room with one of them. Otherwise, go random.
