I have only a few classes left for my GE. I’m at my second year and I’m wondering if I should take the GE classes or take some lower division classes for my major. I’m really not sure which and which you need to transfer… Like if I fulfill the lower division classes, what does that do for me? Or do I just need to complete my GE’s to transfer? Looking to apply to UCI, CSULB, and CPP.
@Wesmman1 - yes, you need to complete your general ed classes. You also must take the classes in your major that are required to transfer to the colleges you intend to apply to. You will not be eligible to transfer without both!
You should schedule an appointment with your CC advisor/counselor to go over your academic plan. You should also look into transfer workshops scheduled at your CC. You will gain a lot of valuable information in doing so.
Also, familiarize yourself with assist.com – you can enter your CC and the college you want to transfer to and will see the classes in your major that are transferable to that college.
