A used car should never be $10,000. I got my car, a '97 Mazda, for $1800. It’s not the prettiest thing, but it runs. My sister just got an '02 (I think) Chevy for about $2300. You can get a very reasonable used car for under $3000. Don’t forget about school costs though. Unless you have parents or a scholarship that are paying your entire way, don’t forget that the less loans you have to take out, the better.

Just out of curiosity… what is your alternative?

Should you get a job?
How else are you going to come up with that money?

And fwiw- 10k is way too much for a car for a college student. You’re most likely going to have a minimum wage job, therefore you’re not going to be able to afford a car like that for at least a few years, assuming you have very little other expenses.

At least you’re not trying to rip off scholarships anymore…

If you absolutely must have a car right this second, consider leasing instead. It’s a few hundred a month after the down.

I will be taking 15 credit hours and working 20 hour weeks at a job that will allow me to do homework, watch movies, write my articles, etc…WHILE making money.

If you can get a job like that, you will be in HEAVEN.

Computer Lab job?

Leasing a car is the worst thing you can ever do.

I think that’s a matter of opinion.
