DD has been working with an SAT tutor once a week since September. Two hours a session. On Saturday she’ll be taking her first SAT.
She started with a reading + writing score of 550, after three months her practice score has only increased by 50~70. She has a separate tutor for math, and she’s scoring around the mid 600s (score increase about 100).
DD has been working pretty hard. In class she used the Meltzer books and the practice tests. But she’s disappointed that she’ll most likely have to take the test again in March, to get that 1400+. My question is, should we get a new tutor, since there has only been marginal improvement? Or is it usually difficult to improve by 100+ over three months? Is it possible for her to self-study and raise the score by 50~100 by next March?
Thanks.
