I'll be living in Lambeth next year and I was wondering if it'd be worth it to get a parking permit. Obviously I won't be using it to drive to classes, but if you did have your car, was it really worth it?

You will want one. You can get a permit right outside lambeth for $300+ or park across the street for ~$150, up to you.

I was in Lambeth for a year, and yeah, I suggest getting one. It’s good to have a car for going to the store (Lambeth apts have kitchens with stoves/microwave/fridge), parking in lots on-ground after 5 if you’re going to be ongrounds late at night, going Downtown, etc etc. If you’re hardpressed to bring it, I guarantee that someone in your apt will have a car and willing to drive you to the store and such. But if you’re comfortable bringing it, I would.

PS- on days/nights of home football and basketball games, do not (!!) move your car after 5pm Friday or after 5pm on the game day. People aren’t supposed to park in the lot, but they still do (open parking after 5pm on any lot owned by UVa) and you can never get a spot. They’ll tow you if you park in a planter or fire lane.
